Our church is like a Stained Glass Window: sparkling and shining in God’s light and spreading His love and beauty from within.
In June of 2019 we began a Preservation Campaign to make some much needed repairs to our church building including our beautiful stained glass windows.
The first sanctuary was built in 1847 (frame construction) with the present sanctuary built in 1889 (brick construction). The education wing was added in 1964.
As with any building of this age, needed repairs are inevitable. The summer of 2019 saw exterior painting, masonry repair, blacktop repair and resurfacing, and stained glass window repair.
Projects for 2020-2021 included continued stained glass window repair, repair of gutters and downspout on bell tower, new windows around basement, new sliding doors, painting and plaster repair throughout the sanctuary and Marsh Room. We are still determining what we will do in 2022, but eventually we know we will need to replace the roof.
As good stewards it is our duty to help God’s physical church remain strong. By doing so we will be providing a welcoming environment in which to meet and study God’s word for generations to come.
If you would like to contribute to the Preservation Campaign, please make checks payable to Cedarville United Presbyterian Church and designate for the Preservation Campaign. Checks can be mailed to the church at P.O. Box 52, Cedarville, OH 45314 or placed in the collection plate on Sundays. You may also designate a Preservation Campaign donation through our Online Giving Page.
